Norfolk solar scheme criticised as 'short-sighted, knee-jerk greenwash'
George Freeman, who represents Mid Norfolk, said the proposed High Grove solar farm - which would be dotted over an estimated 15 square miles of countryside between Castle Acre and Dereham - would sweep away farmland and reshape rural communities.
“What we’re seeing from Whitehall is a misplaced model of growth, replacing farming and vibrant rural communities with unsustainable, short-sighted, knee-jerk greenwash,” the Conservative MP wrote on Facebook.
“There’s nothing ‘green’ about industrialising farmland for subsidised solar and building massive commuter housing estates on farmland.........
