Angry passengers 'thinking twice' about using buses during roadwork delays

Some who travel from Dereham and Thickthorn Park and Ride, where A47 roadworks connected to the Thickthorn upgrade scheme are under way, say they have missed appointments and have been delayed in their social plans because of the ongoing disruptions.

One passenger, who asked not to be named, said: "I do think twice about using the bus if it's easier to use a car."

Judy Castles, who was waiting for the bus to Thickthorn's Park and Ride, said: "It's ridiculous and the Thickthorn roundabout has always been a nightmare but it's one of those things we just have to get on with."

Andre Saint, who was heading back to Swaffham with her husband, said: "It's easier to drive. If we have to get to the hospital, then we will go by car."

Liz Monaghan, who was waiting for the service to the Thickthorn Park and Ride, said: "It's frustrating and I can imagine for people who use the bus daily, that must be really frustrating."
