Megan Smith, 24, started the Pilates business in the grounds of the property at leafy North Wootton, near King's Lynn, two months ago.

But while councillors have been recommended to approve retrospective plans to change the use of the outbuilding behind the house on Manor Road, neighbours fear noise and parked cars will disrupt their quiet community.

"I just think they're being small-minded, to be honest," said Miss Smith. "They haven't got anything better to do."

She added they had misunderstood the scale of her business after seeing it promoted on Instagram, which she said was both her best friend and her worst enemy.

"It's got all my clients but also been the worst thing because people have been going on and running away with ideas," she said.

"I have had these people looking at my social media and stalking me on there. It's bizarre. They're setting up accounts so they can stalk me."
