Breakenridge: Smith backs away from radical promises and adopts Kenney's tactics on Ottawa
Despite some hint of drama in the leadup, there ended up being very little drama in the end when it came to Danielle Smith’s leadership review.
UCP members at the party’s annual general meeting in Red Deer over the weekend gave Smith a rousing endorsement with 91.5 per cent voting in favour of her leadership. Quite a contrast from the 51.4 per cent vote that sunk Jason Kenney and paved the way for Smith’s ascension.
It is, however, interesting to look at how much and how little has changed over the past two years and what it says about the difference between making promises and governing.
