Brookman: Show your pride in this great country
These are my last few words for 2024 and normally they would be all flowery and positive thoughts. You’ll understand that coming up with that is a bit challenging at the moment, with the U.S. heading off in all directions and Canada surging into the New Year virtually leaderless. So here is how I want to put a positive spin on this last column of the year.
We should think positively that with a new federal government, our country can get back on track economically. It will not be overnight, but if our leaders in Ottawa realize what a powerful position we hold in world energy demand, there can still be significant positive outcomes. Hopefully, before long, we will have leaders who understand business, have paid to put gas in their cars or had to stand in line to buy groceries. Surely Canadians deserve more than the self-indulgent and arrogant leadership we have had for the past several years.
Let’s think positively that we will find the funds necessary to restore the honour and respect of our Canadian military. Not because the U.S.........
