Opinion: Rate cap creates real problems for Care-First savings As a long-established broker in this province, every day my team sits down with Alberta drivers looking for auto insurance —new grads buying their first car, families adding a second vehicle, retirees downsizing — and we’re all trying to make sense of an auto insurance system that is becoming increasingly disconnected from these real situations. These conversations highlight a reality that brokers understand, and drivers can easily miss. Well-intended rules can quietly work against the reforms they are meant to support.
