Slime – yes, slime – helped heal me. It might help you, too
Slime might be the most polarizing substance in modern parenting.
Kids can’t get enough of it; parents can’t wait for it to disappear. But what if I told you that slime doesn’t have to be messy? That sensory play contributes to cognitive development? That slime, in fact, saved me during a dark time in my life. What if I told you that maybe the kids are right?
Before I make the case for slime, allow me to dispel the most common argument against it. The prevailing myth among anti-slimers is that slime is messy. I regularly hear some version of “but it’s going to stick to everything!” My beautiful white couch! My clothes! My hair! My dog! Wrong.
You know how to remove slime? Slime! Slime removes slime. If it’s sticking to your hands, use slime to get it off. That’s it.
Slime is an integral part of the playdates I host for my daughters. Handing it out feels like dealing contraband and has earned me the “coolest mom” title from no fewer than five 7-year-old girls.........
