Remember four indictments handed down on Donald Trump? Recall “No one is above the law”?? How about that chestnut about holding the powerful accountable???

At the Washington Post, they seem to have tossed those bromides aside as blithely as they dropped the “Democracy Dies In Darkness” tag line, as they instead rise to the defense of a troubled politician. That they choose to go to bat for one as inept as Eric Swalwell only makes the decision more amusing, and yet there they are, shielding the gubernatorial hopeful while condemning FBI Director Kash Patel for…doing his job.

Apparently, the problem is not a man on the House Committee on Homeland Security, possibly having improper relations with a Chinese spy, but with the head of the FBI investigating the matter.
