Regional Consensus
The wider region continues to urge Afghanistan to transform itself from a hub of regional militancy into a modern, responsible state, yet Kabul remains unwilling to listen. Not only does it disregard the collective counsel of its neighbours and partners, it increasingly refuses even to engage in dialogue, behaving like an ostrich with its head buried in the sand, avoiding a problem rather than confronting it.
This was evident after a high-level meeting in Tehran that brought together special representatives from Pakistan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to discuss regional security concerns and........
