As if to confirm the insanity, irresponsibility and bad faith that flooded both social and traditional media in the aftermath of the Bondi beach shooting, it has now emerged that the two alleged perpetrators were not from Pakistan at all. In a cruel twist, they are of Indian origin, with the father having migrated to Australia in 1998 and the son described as being of Indian-Italian descent. This episode underlines two stark realities. First, emotional reactions issued before any investigation are reckless. More importantly, it exposes the bad faith of many Indian commentators who seized upon the tragedy to pursue their own vile agendas.
