There appears to be no respite for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as adverse verdicts continue to rain down from the courts with relentless force. Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have now been sentenced to 17 years’ imprisonment in the Toshakhana II case, in addition to the 14-year and seven-year sentences they are already serving in the £190 million corruption reference. Looming over them still is the far more serious trial relating to the May 9 protests and the widespread destruction they unleashed across the country.
