The tragic attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, which claimed 15 lives, sent shockwaves through one of Australia’s most popular tourist areas. Yet even before the blood had dried on the pavement, a wave of online commentators seized the moment to unleash Islamophobic vitriol on a staggering scale. Without any official confirmation, several news outlets and social media accounts falsely identified the attackers as Sajid Akram and Naveed Akram, 

purportedly two Pakistani men.
