Trump backer made questionable claims

Bill Marincic’s Dec. 7 letter, (“Left wing’s criticisms of Trump fall short,”) praising Trump as “right about everything” illustrates a deep problem in our civic discourse: alleging sweeping claims without evidence or cherry-picking facts without context.

Mr. Marincic, for instance, dismisses the “Blue Wave” of 2023/2024, stating Democrats won only in Democratic states and cities. In fact, Democrats showed significant gains in areas Trump carried by large margins, proving their appeal extends well beyond traditional strongholds.

While Trump may meet the press more often than Biden, that’s not evidence of “transparency.”

Fact-checkers have documented tens of thousands of false or misleading statements from him.
