YOUR SAY: Firefighter's survival shows why CPR should be taught in our schools
IS THERE a more compulsive argument for first aid being taught to every school student than the back-from-the-dead words of firefighter Robert Elliott (The Examiner, November 23)?

On completion of his first aid course several years ago his instructor said if he were to use Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) it would most likely be on a colleague, or a mate.
The situation was reversed when his cardiac arrest was dealt with by his work colleagues while busy fighting a blaze.
Every person in shoe leather, as a respectful acknowledgement of their fellow humanity, ought to have this knowledge of how to save a life at their very own fingertips.
The place to instill it into the population is the schoolyard.

I RECENTLY engaged in a conversation with State Growth(!) about the proposed modifications to the Kings Meadows highway exit near Bunnings.
I was informed the preferred option from the government was lights at the roundabout to help traffic exiting the highway giving them 'right of way' to clear the slip road.
I suggested an alternate idea (which wasn't mine) where a new slip lane be created entering the roundabout on the northern side and not allowing traffic to enter this road from the roundabout, therefore giving traffic from the city limited traffic to give way to and therefore naturally........
