An Emmerdale star has broken his silence with fans about the "most utterly excruciating" four minutes of his time on the show.

Chris Coghill, who plays the role of Kev Townsend, said a scene in which his character got hold of the mic at a karaoke night to serenade Robert Sugden (played by Ryan Hawley) was painful.

Sharing his thoughts about the experience on social media, the actor said he struggles to understand how the rest of the cast managed to keep a straight face while filming.
