Very slowly and then all at once, Joe Biden got out of the presidential race. In a Sunday afternoon statement and subsequent tweet, Biden announced that while he intends to serve the rest of his term, he will no longer be seeking reelection—and that he believes Vice President Kamala Harris should be the Democrats’ nominee in his place.

The possibility of an open competition to replace Biden gained support among (some) Democrats in the aftermath of his poor debate performance on June 27. But Harris’ subsequent performance under scrutiny on the campaign trail, Biden’s endorsement, and the tighter time frame Dems now face because of the amount of time the president took to consider his options mean that she will likely consolidate near-unanimous support within the party immediately. This had already begun as of Sunday afternoon, with endorsements from top Democrats rolling in as we speak.

Once the rally around Harris is complete, she’ll need to find a vice presidential candidate before the Democratic convention opens on Aug. 19 in Chicago. Here’s a quick rundown of who’s probably on her list and who (despite being a big name) probably isn’t.

Tier 1: The Swing-Vote Governors

In alphabetical order with ages in parentheses, those are Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (46), Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (51), and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (52).
