A guide to San Francisco Fleet Week

It’s early October, the NFL season is in full swing, and buildings are starting to rattle — Fleet Week is back. One of the largest air shows of its kind in the country, the event was originally brought to San Francisco by Mayor Dianne Feinstein, who launched it in 1981. Whether you love it or loathe it, here’s what you can expect this year.
In 2024, Fleet Week takes place Oct. 7-14, right after Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and overlapping with the Italian Heritage Festival on Oct. 13.
