SF tech company loathed by customers finally goes belly-up

Made Renovation, a San Francisco startup that promised a tech-driven approach to bathroom remodels, declared bankruptcy on Friday. It’s the closing chapter for a company that provoked a torrent of customer complaints.

Founded in 2019 and also known as Untitled Labs and MADE, Made Renovation hasn’t been in business for about a year: The company told shareholders in October 2023 that it was trying to close down and sell some of its assets, per TechCrunch. Finally, on Friday, the company went belly-up, disclosing its bleak financials in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing: $146,000 in assets, $19.2 million in liabilities. When active, Made Renovation provided bathroom design templates and connected customers to contractors.
