Christian McCaffrey’s latest injury update underscored the severity of what the 49ers star running back is dealing with.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that McCaffrey traveled to Germany to see a specialist about his Achilles tendinitis. Rumors were already swirling about such a trip throughout the weekend, as someone posted a photo on social media of McCaffrey waiting to get on a flight to Munich.
