Lululemon is appointing Athleta's CEO as its new president and chief product officer

Maggie Gauger, who also spent more than two decades at Nike, will take over a newly created role effective Oct. 26

Lululemon $LULU announced Wednesday that it is appointing Maggie Gauger, the chief executive of Gap $GPS Inc.'s Athleta brand, as its new president and chief product officer, a newly created role effective October 26. Lululemon is also naming Joseph Godsey, most recently chief growth officer of Walmart $WMT Canada, as chief operating officer, also effective October 26.

Gauger's role will consolidate design, merchandising, footwear, product innovation, and materials science under a single leader. She brings more than 28 years of experience in athletic and performance apparel........
