Council told to pay disabled woman £2,000 after blunders left her without care

Norfolk County Council was also criticised by watchdogs for its handling of her complaints, which was said to be "woefully inadequate".

A report by the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman described how the woman - who it calls Ms X - had been getting 15 hours a week of care and support until July 2024, when the care agency gave notice and it stopped.

By October - and with no support in place - Ms X told her social worker she was "overwhelmed with worry".

She was frightened she might fail her degree course, with her child having to provide her care and support in the absence........
