New Delhi: Delhi Capitals have appointed Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues skipper ahead of the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) season. Rodrigues was key member of Indian team’s squad which won the ICC women’s World Cup this year.

The 25-year-old batter played a key role in the semifinal clash against Australia, scoring an unbeaten 127 in a record chase of 339 against the side. After being named as skipper for the Capitals, the Indian woman player said that it is absolute honour for her to become the captain of the franchise and she feels grateful to the owners and other staff members for the same.

The sensational player further added that it has been a dream year for her and the entire side especially the World Cup triumph, which took them to the world stage.........
