Portugal thrashed Armenia 9-1 in their final Group F qualifier on Sunday to qualify for the 2026 World Cup as group toppers, with Bruno Fernandes leading the charge with a hat-trick.

Armenia had equalised after Renato Veiga opened the scoring for Portugal but after Goncalo Ramos scored in the 28th minute, it was one-way traffic as Portugal finished top of the group with 13 points.

It would be Cristiano Ronaldo’s record sixth appearance in the tournament as he missed the match in Porto because of suspension.
