Delhi polls: Is INDI Alliance disintegrating as TMC, SP, RJD decide to back AAP?
Even before the Delhi Assembly elections, the INDI Alliance looks fragmented and the bloc formed to foster Opposition unity seems to be falling apart. The ALliance formed amid a lot of pompand show with the aim to keep BJP and PM Narendra Modi out of power in the 2024 Parliamentary elections fell short of a majority in the Lok Sabha elections and eventually even lost to the NDA in Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections.
Within just a year of its formation, the INDI Alliance started falling apart and this was clear from the statement of RJD chief Lalu Yadav’s son and CM face of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, Tejaswi Yadav who declared the end of INDI Alliance by calling it an arrangement made only for the Lok Sabha elections. Bihar is set to hold Assembly polls somewhere around October-November.
As far as the Delhi Elections are concerned, the parties of the INDI Alliance look isolated as Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has extended support to his party in the Delhi Assembly elections to be held on February 5. In a post on Twitter, Kejriwal thanked West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee for extending her support to the AAP. Kejriwal also thanked Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav........
