I spoke on a panel hosted by Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America yesterday, and Frank Cannon, the organization’s chief political strategist, asked a good question: Where are the national Republicans defending Liz Murrill?

She’s the attorney general of Louisiana, and she has requested extradition of a California doctor who sent abortion drugs to a Louisiana woman, Rosalie Markezich, at her boyfriend’s request and in violation of her state’s law. The boyfriend then allegedly coerced Markezich into having the abortion.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s response to Murrill: “Go f*** yourself. California will never help you criminalize healthcare.”

Based on the quote-replies, no Republican official outside of Louisiana has said anything about this exchange. I guess that’s fine: It’s not as though Newsom has any ambitions outside his state, right?
