On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas invaded Israel, brutally murdering 1,200 people and abducting 251 hostages. What happened next was shocking, as people took to the streets of Canada and other western countries, not to mourn the victims, but to celebrate their murderers.

Just over two years later, here in Canada, police-reported antisemitic hate crimes have skyrocketed. Jewish institutions have been shot at and firebombed. This has left many Canadians asking, “What is happening here?”
