Tomlinson: Texas leads in clean energy, even as Republicans throw up roadblocks

Try as some Texas Republicans might, the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner and more efficient energy sources is underway, and our state is a leader and economically better for it.

Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and GOP members of Congress rarely utter the phrase climate change, and when they do, they either pretend humans are not responsible or call it a hoax. What’s indisputable, though, is the massive investment in Texas by those dedicated to slowing global warming.

My colleague James Osborne recently reported from Washington that clean energy jobs in Texas grew by 6% last year, the second-fastest rate in the country behind Idaho. Clean energy........
