Daily journey, changing times and value of our parents
Every day, I travel to my hospital, a journey that takes about 75 to 90 minutes. People often say that travel broadens your vision about life and makes you understand its uncertainties. For me, this daily travel has become much more than just moving from one place to another. It is a time that teaches me, makes me observe, and forces me to reflect on life, society, and values.
Since the beginning of my posting at this premier tertiary care hospital in South Kashmir, I have learned a lot about time management. My day starts early. I wake up, finish morning tasks quickly, get ready, and leave the house with at least ten minutes to spare. These few extra minutes are important, because I never know when traffic might slow me down. This routine has taught me discipline and the value of every minute.
During this one and a half hour journey, I see life through different shades. I see milkmen collecting milk, farmers taking early rounds of their fields, and men and women going for morning walks. I notice shopkeepers arranging items to begin their daily business. All of this shows me how every........
