POSITIVE VIBES: Positivity in the epic fail

Everybody fails. Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, recently gave a college graduation speech where he noted that he played over 1,500 professional tennis matches, winning 82% of the time. Which is quite amazing. Yet, he also noted that despite that record, he won only 54% of the points in those matches. Still good, but there was a 46% failure there. Federer said he dealt with the losing by treating each point the same, whether he won or lost the point. Once the point was over he concentrated on the next. Which is great stay-in-the-moment advice.

Another way to accept failure is to give yourself an epic fail award. Pick a time in your life you messed up big time, own it, and then let go. That’s what I am going to do.
