The Elms, a 17th-century building based in Toft Monks, near Beccles includes a moat-like feature, which requires repair and reinstatement.

As part of plans to repair the moat, a programme has been created due to the site's important heritage.

The documents produced as part of the planning process to South Norfolk Council include an archaeological data search of the surrounding two kilometres of land.
