Fun for all the family is set to take centre stage next month as a memorial football match and charity event is held.

It will see a Legacy X1 team, brought together in honour of Lowestoft men Matt Fisher and Phil Bultitude, face the MFA K&P Casuals at Lavish Life Competitions Stadium on Walmer Road - the home of Kirkley & Pakefield FC - on Saturday, April 25.

Organisers said friends, family and the local football community will "come together to remember two men who meant a lot to many."

Mr Fisher was a close friend to several of the MFA club players, while Mr Bultitude was stepfather to one of the players and a local referee.

The Legacy XI side will wear a royal blue and yellow kit in honour of Mr Fisher's support for Chelsea and Mr Bultitude's support for Norwich.

The match kicks off at 5pm, with family fun starting from 3.30pm with live music and entertainment for all.

All proceeds raised on the day will support the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Mind Norfolk & Waveney charities as people are urged to "make it a special day in memory of Matt and Phil".

Madi Fisher said the memorial match was being held to remember her late husband, Matt, who died last year aged 45, and family friend Philip Bultitude, who died aged 68.

Mrs Fisher said: "Matt was a doting husband, father and uncle who is missed dearly.

"He was extremely hard working and had a love for Chelsea FC, while men’s mental health was close to Matt’s heart and something he was always very passionate to raise awareness about, especially amongst his close friends.

"This is why I have chosen MIND as a local mental health charity.

"Philip was a devoted fiancée to Jane, an amazing father to Dominic and a great stepdad to Will and Laura.

"He was a devoted football referee for 49 years, regularly stepping in to help out the K&P casuals with refereeing and as a linesman when needed."

'A special place in our hearts'

With funds raised for the East Anglian Air Ambulance at the funeral, the family wanted to continue to raise funds for the charity.

Mrs Fisher said: "This is a day dedicated to both men who hold a special place in our hearts."

There will be live music from singer Jordan Woolston, along with family fun that includes a bouncy castle, blow up dartboard, face painting and much more.

Food, including burger and chips, is available from the clubhouse.

Mrs Fisher added: "After the game people are welcome to join us at the clubhouse to celebrate both Matt and Phil.

"There will be a raffle with some great prizes to be won and evening music."
