The annual event first launched in 1976 and was run by volunteers, but struggles in recent years to recruit enough people prompted the decision to end the popular event.

Fortunately, it is now being taken on by Hannah Bingley and has been rebranded as The Burnhams Market Craft.

It will take place in the centre of the village from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, August 17 2024 with 80 to 100 stalls.

She said: "There will be a huge range of handmade items from Norfolk craftspeople, from ceramics to cushions.

"I am also introducing demonstrations and workshops, including ironmongery, willow weaving and jewellery making."

Miss Bingley has been running The Burnhams Market event in St. Mary's Westgate Church in the village since April 2023, with the next one on Saturday, April 20 2024 from 9am to 2pm.

She also hosts seasonal fairs at The Hoste Arms and runs her own food and gardening business called Freckles of Hannah.
