Seven people charged after 23 arrested in immigration crime crackdown

The arrests were made as part of Operation Lockstream, a national scheme led by the National Police Chief Council focused on disrupting cross-border offending and related criminal activity.

The operation took place from June 15 to June 20 and involved coordinated action across Norfolk and Suffolk.

In Norfolk, the six-day crackdown led to arrests for a range of immigration offences, including illegal entry, overstaying visas, suspected illegal working and immigration absconding.

Police also detained individuals on suspicion of handling stolen goods and going equipped for theft.

Three people were charged and remanded in custody in connection with serious drug offences, including possession with intent to supply.

Two others were charged and remanded for multiple shop theft offences.

Officers seized more than 100g of cocaine, valued at approximately £10,000, and around 10kg of cannabis, estimated to be worth........
