Gavin Dighton, 46, of no fixed address, appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Friday, where he was jailed for 18 weeks and ordered to pay £154.

It followed burglaries at three businesses in Norwich.

The first burglary saw a tub of padlocks and a charity collection box being stolen from a premises in Exchange Street at 2am on October 17.

An iPod Touch and four bottles of alcohol were taken from an address in Barrack Street just hours later.

On October 19, a safe and a till were taken from a business in St Gregory's Alley.

They were found abandoned nearby - along with a bag........
