Jane Diver, head teacher of Hethersett Academy, issued a letter to parents on Wednesday, September 23, in which she argued the intended message during an assembly held on September 4 was "excessive screen use can be harmful to children's health and wellbeing and, wherever possible, should be reduced."

In the letter seen by this newspaper Ms Diver acknowledged her wording "may have suggested that screen time causes ADHD".
