Scrapped Sheringham bus shelter cash could be spent elsewhere in Norfolk
Days of protests against Norfolk County Council's intention to knock down the 1950s shelter in Station Approach - as part of plans to replace it with a new 'travel hub' - led to Sheringham Town Council deciding not to allow its demolition.
But that has left Conservative-run County Hall scrambling to make use of the £580,000 set aside for the scheme, with the the government set to claw it back if it has not been spent by the end of March.
Council leaders have suggested they could use the money elsewhere in the county.
