Democracy delayed? Pressure on Labour council as it refuses to rule out halting vote

The Labour-run council has refused to say anything at all in the light of the government's announcement it will consider requests from authorities to delay May's elections because of local government reorganisation.

Norfolk County Council leader Kay Mason Billig has signalled she has no intention of asking for County Hall's elections - where all 84 county council seats are up for election - to be delayed for a second time.

But Mike Stonard, leader of Norwich City Council, has not commented on what course of action City Hall might now take, with the authority not answering questions about the issue.

As it stands, voters are due to head........
