Norfolk's champion farm thrives on teamwork, data and efficiency
Salle Farms is the 2026 champion in the Norfolk Farm Business Competition, run by the committee behind the Aylsham Show.
Sir John White's estate near Reepham last won the coveted accolade in 2013, and farm and estate manager Andrew Peal said he was proud to prove its high standards are still being maintained.
His guiding principle is "farming the landscape" - optimising its resources of soil, infrastructure and expertise.

Cropping has been adapted to suit the land and satisfy new markets, the machinery fleet has been streamlined for maximum efficiency, and data is harnessed to target resources in a bid to drive efficiency, productivity and sustainability.
Mr Peal credited the award success to this attention to detail - and his nine-strong farming team.
"We've got a really strong team - a really capable, well-trained, engaged team who've made this award possible," he said. "It is 100pc a team effort. We've had some really good apprentices that have come through and are now key members of the team.

"We're on really good land, and it responds well to farming. We are proud of our yields that we can achieve, and although the current economic climate is making it a challenge, we still are profitable.
