BUSINESSES must have heaved a sigh of relief after goods transporters called off their 10-day nationwide strike. The strike had brought port activities in Karachi to a complete standstill, while exporters and importers across the country found their shipments stuck at warehouses, ports, and along highways. Development projects in Punjab were also hit due to a halt in construction material supplies on account of the strike. The disruption in supply chains had made exporters quite anxious as delays in shipments were hurting both their credibility as reliable international suppliers and future orders.
