Crime Doesn’t Pay

When I was growing up, my parents, teachers, and society in general, taught me that “crime doesn’t pay.” These lessons were reinforced in the movie theater and on television. Good and evil, good and bad, crime and punishment were the values of the times. Man-o-man have times changed!

In 2024, crime not only pays, crime pays quite handsomely! If you don’t believe me, ask any elected official. Probably 90% of our federal politicians are richer now than when they entered public office. I’ve heard of one former bartender who got herself elected to the United States Congress and now has a net worth of 29 million dollars. She certainly didn’t save that from her government salary!
