I can't for the life of me understand why illegal aliens who sexually assault and murder US citizens aren't tried by military tribunals? Borrowing language from the controversial Patriot Act, there attacks should earn them its classification of 'enemy combatants’. Such national security threats are fit for Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) proceedings.

The Trump administration would be well served to convene tribunals for murderous migrants going forward

Cases like this are prime examples of why the civilian court system isn't the venue for such combatants:

Citizens who commit violent treason are afforded the opportunity to pursue new trials. While I question its overuse, it at least stems from citizenship.

Illegal aliens who sexually assault and murder US citizens shouldn't be accorded such liberties. A panel of commissioned officers should hear their cases and render judgment. There should only be two verdicts available: not guilty, with swift deportation or guilty, with a quick sentence to be carried out by firing squad.

Military tribunals are the proper venue for migrants like Laken Riley's murderer. He is an 'enemy combatant' who used a college campus of all places as his personal battlefield. The country should return the favor.
