The deadline approaches (yet again) for the House to weigh what must be done regarding government funding.
This Congress has done nothing to restrict, let alone rollback, or restore spending to pre-Covid levels. Instead, what was supposedly a republican majority in the House has allowed itself to be rolled by uniparty saboteurs.
With the current budget (if it could be called that) adding one trillion dollars to the deficit approximately every 100 days, there is no time left to play numbers games, nor will the populace tolerate it.
When he landed the seat after McCarthy’s ouster, Speaker Mike Johnson made what is hoped was not an empty promise to abandon all future continuing resolutions. Thus far, he has waffled in his pledge and, against the will of the majority of constituents, championed a short-term CR that is coming to an end this week.
In the view of two-thirds of Americans, according to mainstream pollsters, the end of the road has been reached. There are no more detours available.
Despite the Biden administration braying that there has been no crisis on the border – both borders now – legal citizens realize that it’s not perfectly normal to tally four to five thousand migrant encounters a day at the southern crossings alone. And that does not include the thousands of........
