The UCP government led by Smith plans to overhaul the auto insurance system in Alberta Jan. 1.

Virtually all lawsuits for injured Albertans hurt by at-fault drivers will end. There will be almost zero suing.

Instead, the government is rolling out a package of medical and income replacement benefits for those injured.
