We are being manipulated by so-called mainstream media like fools
If I asked my readers on Blitz the same question that I asked fifty of my Twitter followers recently, who is Felix Tshisekedi my guess is that only a few if any would know the answer. Similarly, if I asked who Moise Katumbi are, Mobutu Sese Seko, Joseph Kabila, Laurent Kabila or Vital Kamerhe I reckon that I would be confronted with blank stares. For your information thy are all ex-Presidents (Tshisekedi being the current President) or high-ranking ex political leaders of the second largest country in Africa, the eleventh largest country in the world and with a population of 109 million people. Even though I believe I appeal to an intelligent readership, I still reckon that many of you have not answered correctly to which country I refer.
So, a few more clues. The country flag has a yellow star in the top left-hand corner and a diagonal red left to right bottom to top stripe, bordered by yellow all on a blue background. The capital is Kinshasa and the currency is, and this will give it away, the Congolese Franc. However, if I asked what the DRC stands for, I wonder how many of you even receiving so many clues would say the Democratic Republic of Congo.
What is driving me to be so boringly inquisitive about your knowledge of this enormous country, full of mineral riches in the heart of Africa. And why am I not surprised at the general ignorance pertaining to this rather childish inquisition? Well, it is simply the issue of genocide.
