Starmer clashes with Musk over Henry Nowak Case as debate intensifies
The political fallout from the murder of British university student Henry Nowak has deepened after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer accused billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk of interfering in British politics and fueling social division through his comments on the case.
The controversy centers on the death of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, whose fatal stabbing and the actions of police officers at the scene have sparked widespread public outrage, renewed debate about policing standards, and accusations of unequal treatment within the criminal justice system. The case has become one of the most discussed issues in Britain in recent weeks, drawing attention from politicians, activists, media commentators, and high-profile international figures.
Nowak was killed in December after being stabbed five times with a large blade by 23-year-old Vickrum Singh Digwa. According to court proceedings, Digwa falsely told responding officers that he had been the victim of a racist attack. Prosecutors successfully argued that Digwa was responsible for the fatal assault, and he was later convicted of murder. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years before he can be considered for parole.
However, the criminal conviction did not end public scrutiny of the incident. Instead, attention shifted to police conduct after video footage released following Digwa’s sentencing showed officers interacting with Nowak in the moments after the stabbing. The footage appeared to show the teenager repeatedly informing officers that he had been stabbed and was struggling to breathe. Despite his pleas, officers restrained him, dragged him, and placed him in handcuffs.
The images quickly spread across social media platforms and generated intense public reaction. Critics argued that the officers failed to recognize the severity........
