There's a scene in one of the old "Star Trek" movies in which James Kirk is trying to persuade the bad guy to beam Spock onto his ship. When the bad guy refuses, Kirk asks why. "Because you wish it!" he replies.

Message: Opposing something reasonable simply to show opposition is what bad guys do.

I am reminded of this on an almost daily basis as I see the Democrats' boundless rabid energy for fighting the president. If, instead of the last 10 years of mindless protesting, they had directed that energy into positive efforts, there wouldn't be a single illiterate child in any of our schools or a piece of trash on the ground. Positive outcomes aren't what they want, because they all seem to have Trump Derangement Syndrome.
