It had reached the point where no one could break through.

The presidential election had turned into a blur of cannon fire with each side shooting so many broadsides that nothing made sense. Nothing was discernable.

Then Donald Trump went to McDonald’s ...

... and BOOM!

The roar was deafening. For a moment, the smoke cleared. The sea stilled. And you could hear the timber start to split.

The mainmast of the Democratic Party was falling.

In what will go down as the greatest troll in U.S. presidential politics, Donald Trump put on an apron, scooped up some fries and blew a hole in the HMS Harris-Walz.

The New York Post headline said it all:

“COMMANDER IN BEEF: Trump works fry cooker at McDonald’s — and MAGA faithful line up to order: ‘I’ll take whatever he gives me.’ ”

Every pimple-faced 15-year-old who ever played “Call of Duty” knows the way to confound a troll is to ignore him.

This, the Democrats could not do.

They screamed and shrieked and caterwauled all day on Sunday, as Trump moved on to the Steelers game and trawled for more votes elsewhere in battleground Pennsylvania.

While Trump was doing fist........
