With so many eyes on this week’s Democratic National Convention, a lot of Americans didn’t notice on Friday that the 2024 presidential election took a significant turn against Democrats.

The honeymoon is over.

Mainstream media have stopped the nonsense — stopped playing handmaiden to this Democratic pageant, this transfiguration of Kamala Harris.

News and broadcast journalists are finally challenging the illogic of a narrative that overnight turned a mediocre vice president into a mythic figure.

The hagiography of Harris had grown so reverential that Time magazine portrayed the candidate with square chin and noble gaze lifting to the future.

It was pure froth and contradicted years of mainstream reporting.

Before then, Harris had been the vice president whose “entrenched dysfunction and lack of focus” had frustrated the West Wing, as CNN reported in November 2021.

President Joe Biden’s staff complained of her “lack of follow-through,” while her own staff complained of her rough treatment of them that compelled them to leave her employ, The Washington Post reported.

In two decades of government service, Harris had developed a “degrading” leadership style that “burns through seasoned staff members who have succeeded in other demanding, high-profile........
