Why isn't GOP crying 'weaponization' of this indictment?

It’s been nearly 24 hours now since a pair of elected officials in Apache County were indicted on charges of public corruption.

The husband-wife team of Apache County Attorney Michael Whiting and Apache County School Superintendent Joy Whiting stand accused of using their offices for political and personal gain.

Cue the Republican screams that Arizona’s Democratic attorney general is abusing her power in three, two …

No?

This is not the first time Mayes has gone after public officials who turn up their noses at the notion of having to follow the law.

Remember when two Cochise County Republican supervisors, Peggy Judd and Tom Crosby, were indicted on charges they interfered with the 2022 election? This, after they bought into a baseless MAGA conspiracy theory and refused to certify the 2022 election on time, as state law required and as their own county attorney warned them they must?

Outraged Republicans immediately began hyperventilating about the “disgusting weaponization” of the AG’s Office, calling it a “grotesque abuse of office” for Mayes to require county supervisors to follow state law — the one that says........
