Sen. JD Vance’s good acting is all the rage now, but don’t be fooled by it.

It’s just that, acting.

He really did knock it out of the park in Tuesday’s face-off with Gov. Tim Walz with such smooth and effortless performance that you can you almost tune out what he was saying.

I’m joining the chorus today, embracing this polite and elegant 2.0 version of Donald Trump’s VP running mate over the brusque young senator who lamented America is being run by “childless cat ladies” and smeared Haitian immigrats in Ohio as pet-eating barbarians.

Republicans are showering Vance with kudos for outperforming Walz, the running mate of Kamala Harris, declaring him “the CLEAR winner” of the debate.

Walz did appear a bit uneasy on the onset, less polished. Again, I’m welcoming the camaraderie between them and their respectful behavior.

But don’t be hoodwinked by Vance’s convival style on the stage of America’s political theater.

Beneath all that remains the same Vance batting for Trump’s outrageous dehumanization of immigrants, lies........
